Fergie has teamed up with Avon for a global online singing competition to mark the cosmetic company’s 125th anniversary. Acting as a brand representative for the cosmetics company, she will join a panel of judges trying to find the next best female singer.

This December, singers can upload videos of themselves for the judges to consider. The competition was “designed to inspire and empower women to share their voice, their song and their story.” Thus, another portion of the competition will also allow aspiring song writers to compete for top honors and be judged by famed song writer Diane Warren.

Stacy Ferguson, who is also known by as Fergie, has been scheduled to perform with Slash at the 2010 Sunset Strip Music Festival. The event’s website has also announced that the leading lady Black Eyed Peas and the famed former guitarist of Guns N’ Roses will also be joined by Alter Bridge’s vocalist Myles Kennedy at the outdoor street festival on August 28.

About the upcoming collaboration, the wife of actor Josh Duhamel shared to Us magazine, “I’m really excited to rock out with Slash.” The singer, who has previously teamed up with the ex-member of Velvet Revolver at the annual pre-Grammy gala on January 30 in Beverly Hills, California, further hinted that she will not disappoint her fans, insisting she will bring out her “inner rock chick”.

2010 Sunset Strip Music Festival will be held from August 26 to 28. In addition to beer gardens, a VIP lounge, food trucks and interactive experiences, the event will be made merry by the live performances from The Smashing Pumpkins, Common, Semi Precious Weapons, Neon Trees, Steel Panther and Big B.  [Source]
