The Black Eyed Peas member will join the legendary rocker onstage at the upcoming Sunset Strip Music Festival for a special performance.

Pop singer Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie has unveiled big plans for a tribute to her rock ‘n’ roll idol Slash next week, when the pair take the stage for a music festival in Los Angeles. The former Guns N’ Roses guitarist drafted in the “My Humps” hitmaker to contribute vocals for his track “Beautiful Dangerous”, which appears on his self-titled solo album.

And now the Black Eyed Peas singer is working with organizers on a planned salute to the rocker at the upcoming Sunset Strip Music Festival, where she’s planning to join him onstage for a very special performance. She tells Usmagazine.com, “I’m really excited to rock out with Slash. My inner rock chick will emerge that night.”

Other acts scheduled to perform at the weekend festival include Common, The Smashing Pumpkins and Steel Panther. Fergie and Slash’s rock duet will take place on August 28 at House of Blues.  [Source]

While hubby Josh Duhamel continues filming Transformers 3 in Chicago, Fergie was happy to spend some time with his family in Canada. During a tour stop in Winnipeg with the Black Eyed Peas, the singer gave Duhamel’s sister a birthday shout out from the stage – then took her to the Bacardi-sponsored afterparty and introduced her to everyone on tour. Fergie has teamed up with Avon for a global online singing competition to mark the cosmetic company’s 125th anniversary. Acting as a brand representative for the cosmetics company, she will join a panel of judges trying to find the next best female singer.

This December, singers can upload videos of themselves for the judges to consider. The competition was “designed to inspire and empower women to share their voice, their song and their story.” Thus, another portion of the competition will also allow aspiring song writers to compete for top honors and be judged by famed song writer Diane Warren.

2010 Sunset Strip Music Festival will be held from August 26 to 28.
